The homeschool curriculum that I chose is BORING!! Faith hates it and I don’t blame her. If she continued learning it for the next 10 years she would be very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it is information that a teenager or an adult could really learn something from. Granted, there are kids in her class that love it….not us.
I have decided that I will teach Faith and Wilson a letter every couple of days. We are doing “A” right now. Wilson only knows about half of his alphabet and Faith can work on her handwriting. I am having Wilson circle or scribble on the letter “A”s that he sees on a typed page. Faith practices her handwriting and comes up with words that have an “A” in it. So far, so good.
Today we wrote letters in shaving cream…always a favorite. They liked it so much that they did it twice. It was every where! Very fun. I will do something different every couple of days to help Wilson remember the letter. Tomorrow we start on “B”….. although I think he actually knows that one.
Because neither Wilson nor I like the cold, we stay inside a lot. It is unfortunate, but thanks to Christmas we have lots of new toys to play with. The new favorite is the giant cardboard train that is in the living room. So far it has been both a train and a rocket ship. It is quite sturdy and the kids can color on it too. Luckily we have the room for it. Thanks Maw-Ma!
